This is a pricing guide for my own tool, so obvious bias warning. I'll try to be honest about what each tier actually gives you.
I built AI Search Readiness Score (getaisearchscore.com) to audit how well websites are set up for AI search engines. Three tiers: free, one-time buy, and subscription. Here's what you actually get at each level and why I priced it the way I did.
The Honest Caveat First
I ran a study on 441 domains and 14,550 domain-query pairs. The correlation between the readiness score and actual AI citations was r=0.009 (p=0.849). Statistically zero. So I need to be upfront: this tool finds technical problems with your site. It does not predict whether ChatGPT or Perplexity will cite you.
What did matter? Content relevance. Sites that had content directly relevant to a query were cited 62x more often than those that didn't. The score catches real issues — missing schema markup, broken bot access, poor heading structure — but fixing those issues is necessary housekeeping, not a citation guarantee.

The free scan crawls 5 pages and runs the foundational checks: robots.txt accessibility, schema.org presence, mobile optimization, FAQ content, business identity signals, and a few others. You'll see where you stand on a 0–100 scale across four categories.
What it's good for: A quick technical health check. If you score above 70 on the free checks, you probably don't have major structural problems. If you score below 40, you have work to do regardless of AI search.
What it won't tell you: The 17 premium and LLM checks are blurred. Citation source details are hidden. You'll know how many queries mention you but not which ones.
Starter ($149 One-Time): The Full Audit
I deliberately made this a one-time payment, not a subscription. The logic: most sites need one thorough audit, then they fix things. You shouldn't pay monthly for a report you need once.
Here's what $149 actually buys you:
- All 26 checks across 50 pages, including 4 LLM-based evaluations (content clarity, FAQ richness, local relevance, content structure).
- Citation monitoring: 20 queries generated from your actual content, checked against Perplexity. You see exactly which queries mention you and which don't.
- Competitor view: The 5 domains being cited instead of you for each query.
- PDF executive report with root cause analysis — designed so you can hand it to a developer or agency and say "fix these."
Is it worth $149? If your site has genuine technical issues blocking AI crawlers (broken robots.txt, no schema markup, JS-heavy rendering), the audit will find them faster than doing it manually. If your site is already technically solid, most of your money is buying the citation monitoring data and competitor analysis.

This is the tier I'm least confident about recommending broadly. Monthly monitoring makes sense for a narrow set of cases.

- Citation trends: See if your mention rate in Perplexity is changing over time.
- Change alerts: Get notified when a site update breaks something (theme changes, plugin updates, schema removals).
When this makes sense: Large e-commerce sites with frequent product catalog changes, agencies managing multiple client sites, or teams that deploy often and need regression detection. If you have a 20-page brochure site that changes twice a year, save your money and just buy the Starter plan when you need a check-up.
How This Compares to Alternatives
The AI search readiness market is still small. Here's an honest comparison of what I've seen:
- Otterly.ai (from ~$49/mo) — focused on GEO tracking, Semrush partnership. Stronger on monitoring, weaker on technical audit. Different tool for a different job.
- LightSite.ai — managed service, not a self-serve tool. They do the optimization for you. Significantly more expensive. Good if you want someone else to handle it.
- Manual audit — Free, if your time is free. Check robots.txt, test in Google Rich Results, run Lighthouse, manually query Perplexity. Takes a few hours for one site. Our tool does it in two minutes.
